Guest Speaker - Brandy Sparks

Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi

Brandy Sparks lives in the Coastal Bend with her husband and two beautiful kids. They love Jesus, competition and the great outdoors. Brandy is excited to serve on the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. She has worked in education for the past 13 years and coached track and cross-country during many of those years. She ran on the Dallas Baptist University track and cross-country team, giving her a unique insight into what collegiate athletes go through daily. She also learned firsthand about their pressure to succeed and the temptations that lurk at every corner.

The FCA's mission is to see every coach and athlete at TAMU-CC enter into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and his Church. They do this through huddles, a bible study where they teach them how to love Jesus and be disciple-makers. They also encourage athletes to enter into a relationship with Christ through intentional discipleship and partnerships with local churches. The current statistic is that 75% of 18-29-year-olds will walk away from their faith. FCA wants to break this statistic and meet the students right where they are, on campus, on the field and where they live.
